Business Manager (Online Operations, Inventory & Customer Experience)

Type: Part-time • 15–30 hours per week • On-site Carlsbad, CA with hybrid option • Room to grow

The Business Manager is the organizational backbone of our online operations. This role blends product management, customer care, creative tasks, and behind-the-scenes coordination. You’ll work closely with our production team to track inventory, update product availability, manage custom-order timelines, and make sure our website and Etsy shop stay current. This position also includes photographing new pieces, preparing product listings, and maintaining a polished online storefront.

Daily responsibilities include overseeing the flow of all online orders, packaging and shipping items with care, and solving any issues that arise along the way. You’ll handle all customer communication across email, website messages, and Etsy—answering questions, supporting custom requests, and ensuring every shopper has a positive experience. You will also help craft newsletters, assist with basic marketing tasks, and track online advertising or promotional spending.

This role requires a consistent on-site presence for shipping, inventory checks, and content gathering, while allowing some flexibility to complete administrative and digital tasks from home. We’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, communicative, and excited to help support and grow a handcrafted artisan brand.

Social Media Manager (Content Creation, Storytelling & Community Engagement)

Type: Part-time • 10–15 hours per week • Carlsbad, CA with Hybrid work option • Room to grow

The Social Media Manager brings the El Gato Montes brand to life online through creative storytelling, thoughtful content, and consistent engagement. This role includes planning and producing posts, reels, and short videos that highlight our craftsmanship, introduce new products, and share behind-the-scenes moments from our workshop and event life. You’ll build and maintain a monthly content calendar, gather photos and footage, edit videos, write captions in our brand voice, and schedule posts across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest.

You’ll also support our online community by answering DMs and comments, helping guide customers to products, and ensuring that our platforms feel warm, responsive, and active. As part of our broader marketing efforts, you will help manage and allocate a monthly marketing budget—tracking ad spend, boosting key posts, and coordinating promotions or collaborations to maximize visibility and reach.

This position includes occasional on-site time to capture content, meet with the production team, or photograph new inventory, while most editing and scheduling can be done from home. It’s a great fit for someone who is creative, organized, self-directed, and comfortable working with short-form video and trending audio. A strong aesthetic eye and genuine appreciation for handcrafted goods will help you thrive. As our brand continues to grow, this role has the potential to expand into larger-scale marketing planning and creative direction.

Event Booth Assistant (Sales & Festival Support)

Type: Part-time / Seasonal • Hours vary by event • On-site only

The Event Booth Assistant helps represent El Gato Montes at festivals, markets, and shows. This role requires commitment, reliability, and the ability to show up fully—events often involve long days, early load-ins, and busy sales periods. You’ll assist with the full setup and breakdown of the booth, help create an engaging display, and support the Road Manager throughout the event.

Once the booth is open, your main focus will be customer interaction and sales. You’ll greet visitors, share product details, help customers try on pieces, answer questions, and process purchases. We’re looking for someone who enjoys talking with people, feels comfortable guiding customers through their shopping experience, and can maintain a warm, enthusiastic energy throughout the day.

This position is ideal for someone who is friendly, dependable, and excited to be part of a creative, handcrafted brand. Experience is preferred—strong communication and sales skills, a good attitude, and a commitment to follow through on scheduled event days.
