Boots
How do your boots fit?
These boots are handmade from full-grain leather. They'll be snug at first. Within a week of everyday wear, the leather molds to your foot shape. You want it slightly tight in the beginning so it breaks in perfectly. The break-in period is short. A week of regular wear and they'll feel like your favorite pair of beat-up boots.
How do I know what size to get?
We use European sizing. A men's 10 is roughly a 43-44 for us. Our soles are cut to median sizes that accommodate both even and half sizes. If you typically wear a women's 6.5, go with a 7. If you wear men's 10 in sneakers but 10.5 in boots, go with an 11. Think about whether you wear thick socks or inserts with your boots.
What soles do you use?
Vibram soles on all boots. They're designed to be resoled, so your boots last for years. When the soles wear out, any cobbler can resole them.
Can I return boots if they don't fit?
Yes. As long as you haven't worn them outside and the inner isn't discolored from wear, you can return them for a size exchange.
Custom Orders
How does the custom order process work?
Pick a style from our custom orders collection. Choose your leather color, stone, and any extras (size, fringe, extensions). Submit the order. Your piece is handcrafted in 4-6 weeks.
How long does a custom order take?
4-6 weeks from the time you place your order. We don't rush the process. Quality takes time.
Can I change my order after placing it?
If we haven't started building yet, yes. Email us at support@elgatomontes.com as soon as possible.
What stones do you offer?
Labradorite, Amethyst, Gold Sheen Obsidian, Moonstone, Turquoise, Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Rose Quartz, Crazy Lace Agate, Bumble Bee Jasper, Tigers Eye, and more. Each stone is natural and hand-selected, so every piece is one of a kind.
What leather colors do you offer?
Black, Brown, Green, Red, Yellow, Navy, Gray, Beige, White, Celeste, Maroon, and more. We work with oil-tanned, pull-up, suede, and cross-grain leathers. Check our custom order listings for the full palette.
General Questions
Where are your products made?
Everything is handmade to order, one piece at a time.
How do I care for my leather goods?
Condition with leather balm every 3-6 months. Keep away from prolonged moisture. If your piece gets wet, let it air dry naturally. Never use a hair dryer or heat source. The leather will develop a patina over time. That's normal and desirable.
Do you do repairs?
No, we do not do repairs.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. International shipping is available. Rates are calculated at checkout.
